He’s been called “America’s greatest living tailor” and “the most interesting man in the world.” Now, after 50 years of silence, Holocaust survivor Martin Greenfield tells his incredible life story to the world. Taken from his Czechoslovakian home at age fifteen and transported to the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz with his family, Greenfield came face to face with “Angel of Death” Dr. Joseph Mengele and was divided from his parents, sisters, and baby brother forever.
Measure of a Man is the story of a man who suffered unimaginable horror and emerged with a dream of success. From sweeping floors at a New York clothing factory to founding America’s premier custom suit company, Greenfield built a fashion empire. Now 86 years old and working with his sons, Greenfield has dressed the famous and powerful of D.C. and Hollywood, including Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, celebrities Paul Newman, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jimmy Fallon, and the stars of HBO Series’ and Martin Scorsese’s films such as Boardwalk Empire and Great Gatsby.
Working in tandem with the author and the marketing department at Regenery Publishing, Thinkhouse created the website to showcase Martin’s life story. The site design needed to stand up to the book’s powerful content without detracting from it. MartinGreenfieldBook.com called for a strong, compelling, masculine design with echoes of history, rich in tradition and Martin’s craft while complimenting the book color palette and cover design.
The goal of an excellent author website is to be more than just a brochure. It should convey who the author is, their personal brand and also appeal to their audience. It should engage fans with email and social media opportunities, direct them to attend events and appearances, to educate those who desire to learn more while making it enjoyable to view and easy to navigate, and of course buy the book. Most importantly, it should be a responsive or mobile-friendly site so that people can view seamlessly on any device.
